Ed and Reid make it to the final 2. Jillian ends up picking Reid - it is known that couples who resemble each other get married. Reid and Jillian definitely look like one another.

Jason Mesnick has some competition as the most unpopular man to step foot in the “Bachelor” or “Bachelorette” reality dating franchise.
In Monday night’s episode of “The Bachelorette” Jillian Harris eliminated Texas rocker bad boy Wes in Madrid, Spain, following her suspicions that he had come on the show to promote his music, and had a girlfriend back home. Her hunch was confirmed after he was rejected, when Wes revealed in the limo that he, in fact, did have a girlfriend.
Wes bragged to the cameras, “[I am] the first guy ever on ‘The Bachelorette’ to make it to the top four with a girlfriend…. My acting days are over.’’
In next week’s episode Jillian takes the remaining three guys - Reid, Ed and Kiptyn – to Hawaii where she will narrow down her suitors to two. The following week will be the “Men Tell All” special, where host Chris Harrison will have tons to talk to the men about.
“I can’t remember a time when I was more excited to host this show,” Chris blogs on EW.com. “So much to deal with that I’m going to need an extra couple hours from ABC.”
The final episode will air on Monday, July 27 on ABC.

After being eliminated from The Bachelorette Monday night, Wes Hayden spoke to the Bobby Bones show Tuesday morning.
His message? The Austin country singer wants to clear his name to all who thought he was on the show, and dating Jillian Harris, for the wrong reasons. He says show producers put words in his mouth, including that he had a girlfriend.
Did you have a girlfriend when the show was going on?
Wes: I had a girlfriend last summer. She's still a very good friend of mine. Every now and then we'll go out and do lunch or something like that. I mean, I did some work for her mom, I'm good friends with her family. They used her name on the show. And I just called them two weeks ago and was like, 'Look. I don't care what y'all do to me. You can say I'm the worst guy in the world and I'm here for my publicity, I've got a girlfriend. But don't mention anybody's name. Because as soon as you mention her name, people in Austin are going to know her, because we dated for a long time. Sure enough, they mentioned her name the very next day. The very next day, People Magazine called. She gave a great article.CALGARY - The Bachelorette has traded her red roses for a cowboy hat.
While millions of people across North America tuned in to watch Jillian Harris on ABC's hit reality TV show Monday evening, The Bachelorette herself watched the show at a Calgary watering hole during her annual visit to the Stampede.
"I just love the Stampede," says Harris, 29, who arrived at the downtown restaurant-lounge Crush to meet nearly 30 girlfriends after a day at the rodeo.
"I come every year. It's the best place to just kick back and relax with my friends."
Harris shot to fame in 2008 as a fan favourite and second runner-up on The Bachelor. As this year's Bachelorette, the first Canadian in the role, she has continued to capture the hearts of fans while driving up ratings for the reality show.
Having lived in Calgary from 1999 to 2005, the interior designer from Peace River, Alta., can Stampede like a pro.
Since she arrived Friday evening, she has been to the rodeo, hit the midway rides, spent the day playing bingo over beers on the grounds and gone two-stepping at Nashville North. By the time she leaves, she will have added pancake flipping for a charity and chuckwagon races to the list.
"Once a Calgarian, always a Calgarian," says Crush owner Brad Bell, who has been friends with Harris for several years and can't recall another time when a reality show played on his bar's big screen TVs. "This was a special request--it's usually sports. Jillian is such a special girl. I was happy to have her and all her friends here to watch the show."

BACHELORETTE RE-CAP
http://tvwatch.people.com/2009/07/07/bachelorette-recap-wes-reveals-his-true-colors/
Bachelorette Jillian toured Spain trying to figure out which of the final four were in for the long haul. In most cases, she liked what she saw although her eyes were finally opened to the ugly truth about the remaining Romeo.
Madrid Montage: She wandered the streets contemplating the pros and cons of her remaining few suitors. Is Kiptyn too perfect and out of her league? Is Reid ready to start life with her? Will she ever be more important than Ed’s career? Is Wes single? Will he ever wear anything other than cowboy shirts?
It Takes Two to Flamenco: Kiptyn and Jillian strolled in a Madrid park while she tried to get to the bottom of his emotions. Her face fell when Kip revealed that “a proposal seems far off,” but he didn’t notice. He was just as dense during the flamenco dance lesson in an unflattering bolero and skintight pants, but Jill found hope in his ungraceful moves. After crashing a moped into a curb, they sat down to dinner and deep discussions about children, how he reminds her of her spineless dad and the Canadian snail/slug population. When the fantasy suite invite came, she explained that she wasn’t “ready to spend an entire night with somebody yet.” It was his turn for his face to fall as he tried to make her believe that he respected her wishes. He obviously had more in mind than her idea to come up and “cuddle a little.”
I don't know Wes's last name, (I KNOW IT, IT'S HAYDEN) and I don't want to, because then he will have gotten his publicity and he will have won. Texas should be ASHAMED of you, Wes. Good luck in Chihuahua, Mexico, where you are apparently worshipped as a god, and please don't ever set foot again in America, much less Canada, because you are OUT. I'm not sure if leading sweet Jillian Harris on is grounds for treason, but it should be.
Poor Jillian finally picked up on the body language -- ie, he sat as far away from her as possible, even though we know from Reid that she smells good -- and he smirked his way through the rose ceremony. "If it's me, you boys will know that I'll be back home, having lots of sex," he remarked to a visibly stunned Kiptyn.

First, let me just celebrate
Hola, Bachelorette fans! This week's European adventure reminded me of a line from My Fair Lady: ''The pain in Spain falls mainly on the plain Jane.'' Isn't that how it goes? Anyhow, even though man-related heartbreak followed poor Jillian all the way across the ocean, we do have one thing to celebrate this week: the long, long, long, long, looooooong overdue departure of Wes. To paraphrase another movie musical, ''Ding dong, the wicked d--k is dead!''
The episode starts with a lot of filler. Strolling the streets of Madrid, Jillian reflects on the final four guys: Kipper is the ''perfect package'' (translation: ''I'm not good enough for him''); Reid is the guy she has lots of ''physical chemistry'' with (translation: ''all we have in common is a mutual desire to have hot animal sex''); Ed is ''only about his career'' (translation: ''I'm worried he's going to make me an IT widow''); and Wes is ''far, far from perfect'' (translation: ''He's destined to make me miserable, which is exactly what I'm looking for'').

On Monday's "The Bachelorette" Jillian Harris sent Wes home after traveling to Spain with the four men competing for her attention and possibly her hand in marriage. Wes, a 32-year-old musician from Texas, had been accused of having a girlfriend back home and being on the show only to promote his music career.
"The first guy ever on 'The Bachelorette' to make it to the top four with a girlfriend," Wes congratulated himself in the limo ride away from Jillian. "My acting days are over. I've definitely gone as far as I could possibly have gone with Jillian."
A glass of beer in his hand, Wes was looking forward to his night, "Tonight I'm in Spain... I'm cutting off the chains...I'm a free man," Wes said. "I'm in Spain everybody's gonna know my name."
Before the rose ceremony, Wes had a message for the other guys. "If it's me, you boys know, I will be back home having lots of sex," Wes said.
"When I walked Wes down the stairs I knew I had made the right decision," Jillian said. "The bad boy is definitely gone."
Not gone are the final three men: Reid, a 30-year-old real estate agent from Philadelphia; Kiptyn, a 31-year-old California business developer and Ed, a 29-year-old technology consultant from Chicago.
Here's a recap of the show:
Wes was Jillian's final date on Monday's show. On a bike ride in Barcelona, Wes told Jillian he could see himself living in Spain. But later Wes seemed reluctant to consider living anywhere but Austin, Texas. Things got especially awkward when Jillian wanted details on what life with Wes would be like. Instead of setting up the scenario, Wes spilled a beer and was distracted by birds. "I definitely didn't feel romance," Jillian said. "I'm a little bit worried about Wes' lack of affection."
For the rest of the re-cap, see here.
Then: Trista Rehn, physical therapist and probably the most famous bachelorette of them all, didn’t spend much time mending her broken heart after being rejected by premier bachelor Alex Michel
Now: After an equally huge reality TV wedding, Trista and Ryan are still together and have two kids – a boy and a girl.

Not sure if you guys know this about me but I'm a pretty big deal down in Chihuahua, Mexico. Wes is gone, Wes is gone. There are so many classic Wes moments and lines in this episode that I hardly know where to begin. Things obviously deteriorated pretty fast this week between Wes and Jillian and I know it was pretty obvious who was going home by the time we got to the rose ceremony, but it didn't matter because you knew Wes' ego wouldn't allow him to go quietly into that Spanish night. You just couldn't take your eyes off this Texas-sized dumpster fire.
The week started with Jillian meeting Kiptyn in Madrid. After watching Jill and Kiptyn do their own version of dancing with the stars we know this: Kiptyn can't really dance and he's circumcised. Geez, how tight were those pants? Everything is going smooth with Kip. One thing that seems to worry Jilli a little is that right now Kip doesn't seem all that enthused about proposing at the end of this and she is definitely looking for that. It's not a deal breaker by any means but as she said, it's an issue that will have to be addressed. After Kip, Jillian happened to run into Matthew Perry in Spain…wait. That's not Chandler, that's Reid. We learned on this date that Reid is large (Soy grande). I think Jillian and Reid's relationship has been fun to watch grow. They seem to complement and challenge each other well. Their relationship may have started slowly but over the last few weeks it has really picked up steam. Out of all the guys, Reid seems to be having the toughest time handling the fact that Jillian is dating other men at the same time. That's always tough for the guys and their egos. I did find it amusing when Jill asked Reid what he found hard about the fact that she's dating three other guys. What could he possibly have a problem with when he knows his girl friend will be making out with another man in about 12 hours? Bottom line though is Chandler…Reid is looming grande right now in Jillian's corazon (bet ya didn't think I knew French now, did ya).
After her day with Reid, Jillian was anxious to spend some much needed time with Ed. She took a huge leap inviting him back and really wanted to see if she made the right decision. About five minutes into their date you could tell they were going to pick up right where they left off in Canada. The chemistry between the two of them is undeniable. The one thing that was different about Ed's date was that Jillian accepted the fantasy suite card…kind of. With the other guys she emphatically turned down the fantasy suite, but with Ed she really wanted to use it to make up for lost time (clothes on!). You guys wouldn't believe the time it takes me to write those cards and then mail them to Spain. I'm thinking next season we go green and I'll just text them the fantasy suite option.
So, after Ed it was time to go and confront Wes. Let me start this off by giving you my true feelings as well as Jillian's side of the story -- something I really couldn't fully do until he was gone. Wes represented the kind of guy Jillian thought she would end up with when she came on this show. Because of that she really went the extra mile in giving him opportunities to prove himself. Contrary to what some of you might think, Jillian wasn't blind to all of Wes' antics. Yes, a lot of it she wasn't privy to, but obviously more than one guy told her what Wes was up to. I also think a big part of why she kept Wes so long was she was protecting him. Jillian cared about this guy and knew he'd been screwed over a lot in his life and right or wrong she didn't want to be another person to just walk away from him. Although I don't tell Jillian everything that goes on, we did have several heart-to-heart talks about all these guys on and off camera. She defended him a bit and I think the more people attacked Wes the more she wanted to prove them wrong. I know many of you wish she'd kicked him to the curb weeks ago but this was something she needed to figure out and handle in her own way and in her own time. Sure she could have done it sooner but the point is she did dump him and I think she handled herself well. Jillian truly believes Wes came on this show to promote himself and in the end she feels a little sorry for him.
Alright, enough of the serious stuff. Let's talk about my favorite Wes moments this week. This is a line every man should tell a woman whose heart he is trying to win: "I'm gonna be true to myself...numero uno is most important here." I really don't know why Jillian didn't drop to one knee and propose to him right then and there. Probably my favorite moment was after a really awkward moment, the fantasy suite card arrives. Now obviously the day has been just a bit less than romantic so when presented with the option to spend the night with her, Wes says...wait for it... "ummm, I think we should." Survey says...snowball's chance in hell!

This Monday on The Bachelorette, Jillian Harris says goodbye to North American dates for a romantic rendezvous in Spain.
She and the final four guys will go on romantic dates, and each will culminate in a fantasy suite (at Jillian's discretion).
The four remaining hopefuls are:
From the looks of the previews released by ABC, Jillian will get to the bottom of Wes Hayden's motives this week. He's been accused of being on the show solely to promote his music. But even worse, he was recently accused by fellow contestant Jake Pavelka of having a girlfriend at home.
According to the Citytv, the stops will be Madrid, Seville and Barcelona.

As the four remaining bachelors -- Ed, Kiptyn, Reid, Wes -- vie for "The Bachelorette"'s affections on tonight's episode, last week's eliminated bachelor, Michael Stagliano, talks to ET about the two big controversies.
First up, Michael addresses the issue of Ed, who left the show a while back citing "work" as the reason. Last week, he returned unexpectedly. He never did say whether or not his job was really in jeopardy, but, as a result, Jillian Harris had to eliminate two bachelors this week, instead of just one.
"I think during the Rose Ceremony, I honestly put my hand up to ask Chris Harrison, 'Is this legal? Doesn't this break the structure of the show?' I didn't really understand the concept of: 'Jillian, I am going to leave for a month and then I will be back and we will pick it up from there,'" Michael tells ET.
Nice guys always finish last, right? The Bachelorette reject Michael Stagliano, who won hearts -- if not Jillian's -- with his heartbreakingly sincere exit speech on Monday, spoke to reporters this morning.
Do you really think that you fell in love with Jillian?
I think when you get out of the show, there's definitely a moment of, wait a minute. What was that? It's a hypersensitive situation to meet someone. Jillian's the only girl you see for six weeks. So that has to be stated, but to this day, I still think about her. I still could not say anything bad about her. I liked everything I got to see about her. Those are real feelings.
Do you think the age difference played a factor in her not choosing you?
She obviously talked to me about that directly a few times, but I'm telling you, I never felt like she was older than me. If anything, I thought, this girl's even goofier than I am. She's very young at heart. So I don't know. Can I ever say I felt like I needed to act more like a 30-year-old? No.
Do you still want to get married very young?
Absolutely, I still want to get married young. I want to have kids before I'm 30, and I want several years with my wife before that.

It's hometown week, and first, Jillian's off to Philadelphia to see Reid. She's squealy and excited to meet her coffee-bearing suitor, who's standing in front of some lovely flowering trees (magnolia? dogwood?) — but she's also nervous: ''Are Reid's parents going to like me, are they going to approve?'' Even in a new state, these two have nothing to say to each other. Their conversation goes something like this:
Jillian: ''I'm nervous.'
Cleanup in Aisle Creep! The Bachelorette's current final-four contender Wes -- you know, the guy who during his confessionals has waxed poetic about how performing music in front of an audience is more of a turn-on than any woman or drug could ever be -- was apparently "truth"-telling when he insisted he did not have a girlfriend named Laurel while being meekly grilled by Jillian during last Monday's episode. Laurel (last name Kagay) tells People.com that she dated Wes for three years, until she caught him writing a steamy love letter to a major record label their relationship turned to friendship a year ago. For the record, Laurel has also dated Brad Womack (star of The Bachelor's 11th season) as well as Collin Evans, a contestant during The Bachelorette’s third season with Jen Schefft, notes People. (Not that I'm implying a fameosexual trend here or anything.)
See the rest of the story here.

The man himself, a native of Austin, Tex., has now spoken out in his own defence. Horrified with the way the show has portrayed him, he broke his contractually mandated silence to speak to Dallas radio station KISX-FM, reports the website Examiner.com.
It was all in the editing, Wes insisted: "I can tell you that a lot of what was said was taken out of context with voiceovers on certain subject matters. For instance, when I said 'I could taste the fame, I could feel it,' when I heard that, I almost fell on the floor and had a heart attack. . . . The interviewer actually asked me what it was like when I was writing a song, the response was that I can taste it, and it comes inside of me, and then comes out on pen and paper."

Austin, Tex., resident Laurel Kagay was just minding her own business and watching The Bachelorette Monday. Then suddenly, her name was mentioned.
In a hilariously staged return, ousted suitor Jake Pavelka came back to tell Jillian Harris that Wes Hayden, a remaining contender, had a girlfriend.
Her name is Laurel, Jake told Jillian and millions of viewers. Wes denied he is dating her. Jake ratted him out anyway. Laurel Kagay sat in shock at home.
“I was like, ‘What?’” Laurel told People in an interview today. “There was this pause before he said my name - and then he said it quite a few times.”
Laurel Kagay, owner of Peach Body Boutique in Austin, would like to clear the air on this topic, which has dominated the contrived Bachelorette for weeks.
She dated Wes Hayden for three years, but they are broken up, and have been for quite a while now. The two became strictly friends a year ago, she said.
“I’m absolutely not with Wes, nor would I be with Wes if he were going on a show to be with another girl,” she says. “That’s absolutely crazy.”
So how did Jake Pavelka get things mixed up?
Laurel Kagay insists that she and Wes Hayden - who has caught considerable flak for romancing Jillian Harris while supposedly dating Laurel - are not an item.
“And I think Wes did say something about his ex-girlfriend. Maybe he said he still cares about me or whatever. Maybe Jake blew that into something else.”
However, Laurel Kagay admits, “We are really good friends and we do go out to lunch together, so I could see how people could think we’re together.”
Oddly enough, Laurel is also linked to another famous name in The Bachelor franchise - Brad Womack, the Texan who chose no one on his season finale.
Laurel Kagay has also dated Collin Evans, who was briefly a contender on The Bachelorette’s third season with Jen Schefft. Sounds like she has a type!

ABC/CRAIG SJODIN "Shall God strike me down with lighting if I am mistaken or he did not tell me that," former Bachelorette contestant Jake Pavelka told reporters this morning about his claims that fellow contestant Wes Hayden has a girlfriend.
For those coming in on this late, here's what's happening. On Monday night's episode (check out Trista Sutter's blog about it here), Jake returned to the show with the sole purpose of telling bachelorette Jillian Harris that Wes confided in him that he has a girlfriend. Jillian confronted Wes about it, in front of Jake, and Wes denied it. In the end, Jillian chose to believe Wes over Jake. And now all hell's broken loose.
Today, Wes' accuser speaks out and reveals more details to reporters about exactly what the Austin-based musician, who has been accused of being on the show to promote his new CD, told him. Meanwhile, the alleged girlfriend, Laurel Kagay, is setting the record straight on her own. Check out the drama…
ABC/KEVIN FOLEY What did Wes tell you?
The conversations that Wes and I had were not, 'Hey Jake, I got a girlfriend.' It was, 'Hey Jake, I got a girlfriend and I don't know what to do.' I said, 'Wes, are you in love with her?' I said, 'If you're not in love with her, you may fall in love with Jillian.' And, he said, 'No. Jillian is not the girl for me.' Wes was talking to me in the final episodes about going ahead and bowing out and getting out of the show. He had already gotten what he was looking for, to sell CDs.
How sure are you?
I know 100 percent without a shadow of a doubt that he and Laurel are together, and they were together during the show. I think it's all an act, and I think Laurel was in cahoots with him. I don't believe it. I know it. We had multiple conversations. It was a dialogue back and forth. He told me he loved her. And I said, 'Are you developing feelings for Jillian?' He said, 'She's just not the girl. I'm going to break her heart.' He said, 'I'm going to bow out when the time is right.'
Laurel's in cahoots with him?
Laurel was in cahoots with him. His biggest fear was he makes it far enough that they have to go behind closed doors [on an overnight date]. He was so worried about that because that wasn't going to be OK with Laurel, and this is the stuff that came out of his mouth. [Evidently] she's cleared [him] to kiss her.
Meanwhile, Laurel spoke out to People magazine backing up Wes' story that they did indeed date for three years, but the relationship turned to friendship a year ago. She told the magazine, "I'm absolutely not with Wes, nor would I be with Wes if he were going on a show to be with another girl. That's absolutely crazy. We are really good friends and we do go out to lunch together, so I could see how people could think we're together."
Unfortunately, Wes is still on The Bachelorette and is unavailable to the press to respond to Jake's new claims today.
Hal Horowitz/Getty Images Original Bachelorette Trista Sutter is putting her reality-TV experience to use for us here at Watch With Kristin, blogging about Jillian Harris' quest for the perfect guy. Take it away, Trista...
Yet another week of watching the latest lucky girl search for love on national television. As the first lucky girl to wear The Bachelorette shoes, I can certainly sympathize with Jillian Harris' position. Here's my humble opinion on last night's action...
Hometown dates start with Reid in Philly. Superhigh squeals from Jillian are a good sign of excitement, although I'm anxious to see if they are truly good signs or not. As they sit on a park bench in the city, awkward silence hits. Cringe-worthy for sure, especially when they fill it with a kiss. Another incredibly cringe-worthy moment was when Jillian kissed Reid during cake time (Happy Belated Birthday, Reid!). It was so uncomfortable!
Comfortable, though, was the time with his dad. He said, "Don't worry about what I think or what your mom thinks. If you're happy, go for it." Unconditional support is what a family should be about, and it seems like Jillian would be lucky to be part of that. They seem solid and supportive and drama-free. Some may say boring, but boring may just mean the show edited the laughter-filled parts out (like they did with Ryan's date to my dad's house on my season). Or it could mean they are the real deal and are purely grounded, happy people. Good either way, as that will be her reality if Reid is the final rose recipient. (Not sure I would bet on that, but as I've said before, I'm always wrong at guessing!)
Michael introduces Jillian to his mom, dad and identical twin brother in Valencia, Calif., after she releases her signature superhigh squeal when he opens the door. Gotta love the exuberance, although I feel sorry for the audio guy with the headphones on when she does that into her microphone. The date goes well, although I'm not sure how it couldn't with such a genuine, fun-loving family. His brother Steve helps her talk through the age concern she's feeling. He sets it straight that Michael wants to be a young husband, and she realizes that she'd rather be with someone who makes her laugh, than someone who was older just for age's sake. Good point. Good date.
Kiptyn welcomes Jillian to San Diego, and she lets out yet another signature superhigh squeal. Gorgeous scenery, gorgeous guy but not-so-gorgeous kiss. Ick! I realize Jillian may be into his reach-with-the-lips type of kissing, but I'd just rather not watch. Right away, Jillian is swept off to the backyard for a little humor and quite a bit of pressure. Humor comes from the yellow "caution" tape around the hot tub (love that she can laugh at herself!) And pressure came from their lasagna and fine wine test, which Jillian passes with flying colors. It seemed a bit unfair and condescending, if you ask me.
Then there was the time Jillian had with his mom. Ouch. Talk about tough! She did warm up, and they seemed to click over honesty and Kiptyn's happiness, but if I were in her shoes, I would've worried about future conflicts with her. Kiptyn's sister (of course, she's gorgeous), on the other hand, let it all out at dinner when she said, "Get this girl pregnant!" I love that sense of humor!
Jesse's family's winery is set in beautiful Carmel, Calif. The only thing missing from their hellos was Jillian's signature squeal. Not a good sign, although I'm sure the audio guy was thankful. There were the typical chats with mom and his brother, but the jam session was out of the ordinary. How much fun! Jesse is so on the top of my list. He is so articulate and calming, and I absolutely loved his brother.
ABC/KEVIN FOLEY Now, it's off to Austin to see the guy who "gets me the most," as Jillian says. Maybe Wes just did his homework and read all about her before he decided to blindside her for his career! Jillian squeals hello (yes, she did it for everyone but Jesse), and then he introduces her to his band. If only she could hear his personal interviews...ugh! I know the producers want it to be as authentic as possible, and I know it's hard to do when your dating life is being filmed and it started with 30 guys, and they don't want to interfere. But how do you not share with her that Wes' "ultimate goal" is for his new CD to do well and that not even a woman can give you the feeling you get when you are on stage? I just want to jump through the screen and strangle him. At the very least, I want to throw the guitar out of his hands and tell him that as a country music fan, I would never buy his music!
