The Bachelorette: Jake Spills
"Shall God strike me down with lighting if I am mistaken or he did not tell me that," former Bachelorette contestant Jake Pavelka told reporters this morning about his claims that fellow contestant Wes Hayden has a girlfriend.
For those coming in on this late, here's what's happening. On Monday night's episode (check out Trista Sutter's blog about it here), Jake returned to the show with the sole purpose of telling bachelorette Jillian Harris that Wes confided in him that he has a girlfriend. Jillian confronted Wes about it, in front of Jake, and Wes denied it. In the end, Jillian chose to believe Wes over Jake. And now all hell's broken loose.
Today, Wes' accuser speaks out and reveals more details to reporters about exactly what the Austin-based musician, who has been accused of being on the show to promote his new CD, told him. Meanwhile, the alleged girlfriend, Laurel Kagay, is setting the record straight on her own. Check out the drama…
What did Wes tell you?
The conversations that Wes and I had were not, 'Hey Jake, I got a girlfriend.' It was, 'Hey Jake, I got a girlfriend and I don't know what to do.' I said, 'Wes, are you in love with her?' I said, 'If you're not in love with her, you may fall in love with Jillian.' And, he said, 'No. Jillian is not the girl for me.' Wes was talking to me in the final episodes about going ahead and bowing out and getting out of the show. He had already gotten what he was looking for, to sell CDs.
How sure are you?
I know 100 percent without a shadow of a doubt that he and Laurel are together, and they were together during the show. I think it's all an act, and I think Laurel was in cahoots with him. I don't believe it. I know it. We had multiple conversations. It was a dialogue back and forth. He told me he loved her. And I said, 'Are you developing feelings for Jillian?' He said, 'She's just not the girl. I'm going to break her heart.' He said, 'I'm going to bow out when the time is right.'
Laurel's in cahoots with him?
Laurel was in cahoots with him. His biggest fear was he makes it far enough that they have to go behind closed doors [on an overnight date]. He was so worried about that because that wasn't going to be OK with Laurel, and this is the stuff that came out of his mouth. [Evidently] she's cleared [him] to kiss her.
Meanwhile, Laurel spoke out to People magazine backing up Wes' story that they did indeed date for three years, but the relationship turned to friendship a year ago. She told the magazine, "I'm absolutely not with Wes, nor would I be with Wes if he were going on a show to be with another girl. That's absolutely crazy. We are really good friends and we do go out to lunch together, so I could see how people could think we're together."
Unfortunately, Wes is still on The Bachelorette and is unavailable to the press to respond to Jake's new claims today.

Jake does not appear to be a spitefull person or a trouble maker and I believe he gave it a lot of thought before putting himself in that position, but he thought more about Jillian then himself. Jake seems like a straight shooter and I don't see how it helps him to come forward with that information, and slick Wes and Laurel are just covering it up. Too bad that trying to help Jillian didn't accomplish what he hoped it would. Too bad Tanner doesn't come forward as he's the one that started it all. I feel bad for Jake, but I'm sure something good will come out of all this for him. Wish he lived in LA, I'd love him for my gorgeous daughter, he's a real gem.
Jake should be the next bachelor!
