Poll Results: Kiptyn or Reid? Your Pick for the Next Bachelor

In a poll that asked users who they thought should be the next Bachelor, Kiptyn and Reid both nabbed 38 percent of the more than 3,000 votes cast. (Interestingly, in a poll launched before the final rose, the majority wanted Jillian to pick Reid.)

Wes Hayden's quest for Jillian Harris's affections on 'reality' show The Bachelorette ended badly. Let that be a lesson

For anyone who might have entertained the notion — however fleetingly — of applying to be on a reality show, let Bachelorette contestant Wes Hayden's experiences serve as a cautionary tale. Hayden, a Texan country singer who exited the show last week after being portrayed as an opportunist with a girlfriend (and all-around jerk) in the quest for Jillian Harris's affections on ABC's The Bachelorette 5, has broken the first covenant of reality television: Never talk about what actually happened.

“Well … that’s a wrap! I will keep this post short and sweet as I have an eager man waiting for me and wanting to get OUT IN PUBLIC together … FINALLY! I have been waiting for this day since May 24th — the day that I can openly tell you how madly in love I am, how happy I am and how excited I am for the future.
A wise man once said, “Love, it don’t come easy” — and that is so true. I can honestly say that I have found my best friend but it didn’t come without consequences. Aside from all the crying, surprises, drama, public criticism and most importantly, hurting two incredible men that I will never forget — please understand that it broke my heart as much as theirs — I never imagined in a million years that I would have to let two men go that I love so dearly, and have it hurt so so much in order to be with the man that I am wanting to spend the rest of my life with.
Reid and Kiptyn are both unbelievable men. Some will have opinions of why maybe I should have picked one or the other instead of Ed. Some will see why Ed was perfect for me from the beginning. I embrace ALL of your opinions. I can see why you would all think ALL three of these men would be great for me. For those who want to congratulate my happiness … THANK YOU!!! We are both EXTREMELY happy (still) and truly it gets better and better every day we are together.
The “After the Final Rose” was not easy. Not for me, and not for Reid or Kiptyn I’m sure. I felt like there was no right way to deal with the situation. I have always been very close with my exes but have never had to confront them in a setting like this before so I was definitely hurting. There are so many fabulous memories and so many sensitive ones. All I can say is that I am lucky — lucky to have been loved by these men and lucky to be with one right now that thinks the world of me.
As I type this, we are off to our FIRST outing in public, hopefully just wings and beer! I am so excited and so eager to get my normal little life back. Ed and I have spent the summer together (every two weeks for five days at a time) and it truly does keep on getting better and better. We have so much fun together, know one another so well and find ourselves so comfortable with each other. We have learned so much about one another and I am loving every minute of it.
Oh wait — someone’s stealing my computer!
Ed here! I cannot believe the journey that we have experienced over the last few months. But we are having a blast and could not be happier. I want to thank everyone for their support and cheering us on. Jilly and I have been spending so much time together and have an incredible summer planned. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU … for believing in Jilly and supporting her throughout this. She means the world to me and I promise I will take good care of her. We are ready for a wicked life together!

And now he’s got a new deal to prove it: The affable reality star (and beloved EW blogger!) will be producing and hosting red carpet coverage for the TV Guide Network, where he already anchors and produces the weekly entertainment news show Hollywood 411. He and Dancing With the Stars’ Carrie Ann Inaba, who are replacing Joey Fatone and Lisa Rinna, will be chatting up stars at awards shows and major events, starting with the Emmys on Sept. 20. Harrison’s goal, in both his hosting and producing capacities, is to make TV Guide Network the red carpet destination for both stars and viewers seeking “a good interview.

For 10 weeks, we've been watching Jillian's search for love. Yes, it's a television show that is out for ratings, but like millions of Americans, I continue to believe that two people can meet and fall in love under the harsh glare of reality-TV cameras.
Isn't that why we are all tuned in on Monday nights? The hope that love will win out, even in the most unusual and bizarre set of circumstances? Well, that's why I have my TiVo set! Am I biased? Sure. But when I look into the beautiful eyes of my children, I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that love from a TV setup is most definitely possible. Will it be a reality for Jillian? Only time will tell. For now, though, I just want to see a happy ending to a crazy courtship.
At least Wes didn't come back too!

After meeting Jillian's family in Hawaii and spending one last night with the object of their increasingly believable affection, Ed and Kip both picked out engagement rings (we liked Kip's 3-karat sparkler best) and formulated what they wanted to say to the 29-year-old interior designer.

In its own way, last night's rather routine finale for the Harris edition of The Bachelorette was as successful as Mesnick's famously messy Bachelor farewell in March. The Bachelorette season closer scored its biggest audience since 2004, ABC said; in March, The Bachelor scored its biggest audience since 2003.
2. Define big. In the case of The Bachelorette, you're talking nearly 10 million viewers, per preliminary Nielsen estimates. With The Bachelor, the audience numbered about 15.5 million (and then hit 17 million for the Melissa Rycroft-dumping, postfinale show).

This week's episode was billed as "The most emotional season finale in Bachelorette history." But unless bikinis make you teary, it was pretty tame. Thought Jillian had "doubts" about the two remaining men, the conflict felt pretty contrived. Was the passion there with Ed after it fell flaccid - sorry, flat in the fantasy suite? Was Kiptyn realy ready to make a long-term commitment? Who would she choose: cuddly commitment or sexy passion? Read on to find out.

This morning, Jillian Harris poured herself a cup of coffee and sat down with dozens of reporters, via a conference call, to discuss everything she is allowed to discuss before next week's finale of "The Bachelorette."
Two days after a relatively unexciting "Men Tell All" episode and less than a week before America will see for themselves whether Kiptyn, Ed, the returning Reid or none of the above will resemble the rose of her future, Jillian sounded happy, sure and very vague.

"The Bachelorette"'s Jillian Harris says she is on top of the world right now and she can't wait until next Monday's finale so everybody can see why. But to get there, she had to wade through a lot of drama with two of the series' best-ever bad boys: Wes and David.
"I have no regrets from anything this season," she says just days before the big reveal of her chosen guy. "Part of me says maybe I should have let Wes go sooner. Part of me wishes I had been a little harder on Dave for being so crass and rude, but those are not regrets. If I regretted anything … to me there is no regret that you can't change. If I regretted anything I would go back and see if I could make it work a second time."
