It's true Bachelor fans. Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson have split. No need to say 'I told you so.' According to reports, Courtney is devastated over the break-up and wants to rekindle with her former fiancee. Although the couple says that the split was mutual. Courtney's dad, Rick Robertson, reportedly says otherwise. "Ben's controlling personality ultimately killed the relationship," Rick Robertson tells a magazine.
Here's what they said in their joint statement to In Touch Magazine:
“After meeting over a year
ago, we have decided to end our romantic relationship. The ups and downs
weighed heavily on us both and ultimately we started to grow apart
because of the distance, time apart, and our need to focus on our
respective careers. “We have nothing but the
utmost respect for each other, and both feel this is the right decision …
We continue to remain friends and will support each other in future
endeavors. Thanks to everyone for your love and support, it’s been quite
a ride.”
After their on-air engagement, the couple was familiar with tabloid speculation. In January, Star Magazine accused Courtney of cheating on Ben with her ex-boyfriend (Desperate Housewives actor, Jesse Metcalfe). The couple denied cheating allegation and Courtney's father agreed. "Anyone
who knows and loves Courtney, or anyone who is a friend of hers, knows this
story is completely wrong," says Rick. "It's
just not true at all. As a parent, it's
painful and hurtful to hear a story like this.
She's not that sort of person.
She's a great girl."
